My Astrological Forecast for 2020!
The strong Earth energy continues in 2020 with Capricorn still hosting Pluto all year long, as well as Saturn and Jupiter for most of the year. In addition, there is an important Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn mid-summer and Uranus getting into its stride thru Taurus.
Bear in mind that the Earth element relates directly to what we sense and what we physically own, and most of us will likely have experienced some pressure to re-assess what we have and want.
Pluto is on a very long journey through Capricorn. And as we have seen over the past 10 years, it has underpinned major political and financial upheavals. However, there are several more years of Capricorn's once-in-a-generation transit to experience. For the first three months, Pluto is close to Saturn, making an exact conjunction on the January 12th. This is merely two days after the Lunar Eclipse in Cancer, which is Capricorn's opposite sign. I feel that this could bring a period of intense 'make or break' when circumstances could demand that serious thought be given to the material elements of life. Scenarios such as finally taking the plunge and going it alone creatively or with a business idea may be very compelling now. Any aspects of life that make you feel trapped or confined may become intolerable. While this kind of thing can be very painful, ultimately it involves facing up to what no longer works in your life, which in the big picture can be very empowering. This is an echo of the dramatic changes we have been seeing almost daily on a global scale in recent years.
Saturn leaves Capricorn for Aquarius for four months, from late March to July 1st, providing a little taste of the Saturn transit next year and will add some cool, strategic energy into the earthy and sensual mix we have become accustomed to. I will write about the coming transit later in the year, but I just want you to know that Saturn is equally strong in Aquarius as it is in Capricorn. This is because traditionally it is the ruler of both signs. While Capricorn is concerned with politics, wealth, business and property, Aquarius is mainly concerned with big ideas and the collective. You may start thinking about aligning yourself with organizations linked to something you are passionate about. This could be anything from a political party to making improvements in your immediate neighborhood. It is important to give others a fair hearing with this transit. Aquarius is a fixed sign that sometimes only hears what it chooses to. Saturn in this position, if you allow it, could incite you to cut ties with someone simply because you have a disagreement that really inconsequential in the long run. Saturn returns to Capricorn on July 1st and will remain there until December.
Uranus is well ensconced in Taurus now, and you may be feeling an added sense of urgency regarding changes to your material circumstances. Uranus creates the perfect environment for sudden change to occur, completely without warning. In Taurus this has a direct effect on what you possess and also how you go about using your own talents to attract the wealth and security that you desire. Be on the alert for sudden opportunities to enhance your assets or improve your potential for general wealth creation. The interesting thing about Uranus is that sometimes wonderful opportunities arise out of what at first seems to be disastrous.
As usual the planets that remain in one sign for long term transits undergo periods on retrograde motion. While these long-term transits usher in periods of creative and energetic change, the retrograde periods may bring some frustration. It could feel like everything has come to a halt and you are driving with the brakes on. Pluto is retrograde from April 25th to October 4th. Uranus, on the other hand, retrograde since August 2019, will go direct in 2020 on January 11th and then go retrograde again on August 15th until January of 2021. Of course, change will certainly be occurring throughout the year, but it may be less overt, and give you time to carefully consider how to proceed on your journey to happiness and security.
Neptune, still in Pisces, is retrograde between June 22nd and November 28th – almost half the year. Remember Neptune in Pisces is 'at home' and stimulates imagination and the desire to transcend the humdrum day-to-day existence. This is a great transit to explore your spiritual quest, but it is essential you don't fall into the trap of believing that one charismatic individual has the answer to everything. During this retrograde period, you may discover that your faith has been misplaced, which can be extremely disappointing. However, in the process, you can learn a valuable spiritual lesson that strengthens you and deepens your understanding.
Mars undergoes a month of retrograde motion this year that results in a whopping six-month transit thru Aries, it's favorite sign, only moving on in January 2021 This fiery transit provides some much-needed inspiration and get-up-and-go since energetically we are a little Earth-bound this year. This again may stimulate your need to make dramatic and immediate changes to your life as you feel that there is no time to lose. This may feel particularly frustrating on the 4th and 24th of August, the 9th and 29th of September and the 10th of October. These are days to hold fire and opt for a more cautious approach to attaining your desires.
All in all, 2020 will be a year much like 2019, only more so. Now that Jupiter is also in Capricorn, changes that have already started in our personal lives and in the world at large will proceed at a much faster pace, encompassing even more than we originally thought. Creating and controlling the improvements and opportunities that benefit your life is where you should be putting your energy and mental and spiritual focus in 2020 my friend.
I'll be with you all year long, helping you to take advantage of and navigate 2020!
